Now the main reason I am taking this course is not to get an easy, because it starts late in the afternoon or to meet girls, thats why im taking intro to the solar system. But I am taking this class as a learning experience, in a subject that has always been my passion, especially the film aspect. And I really do feel that while the way media is shown has progressed, overall media literacy has been on the decline. Which I believe is a pretty fair statement as there are over 11 million people who tune in to glee every week. It seems that the entire success of media is not built off of intelligence or artistic merit but convenience. The shows, the songs, the movies that make the most money for the most part are the ones that require the least thought. There are of course plenty of exceptions, but I am taking this course as I want to be apart of the solution and not the problem. I want to more understand the new mediums that are entering the world especially from the creation side.
